You are accepted:
At University, we strive to be a church that puts God first. We do not believe He has called us to convert people to ourselves, or to make people conform to the ways of a particular church. Instead, we believe it is our mission to lead people to the grace of Jesus. We are not a perfect church, and our members are not perfect people. But, we do follow a perfect God. Just as Christ has accepted us in our imperfections, He will accept you with all your problems and faults (Romans 15:7). It isn't what you've done, or where you are now, but where you are willing to let God take you that matters.
The University church is made up of members from all walks of life, different ages, different races, different perspectives, and even different religious backgrounds. Yet, we are all one in Christ (Galatians 3:28).
The University church was originally started by the Jackson Street church for the primary purpose of reaching out to the students and faculty of the University of Louisiana-Monroe (ULM), and of Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC). Our commitment to this ministry remains one of our top priorities. However, we believe God has led us to increase our ministries in other areas, particularly to those of young people and their families.
We also believe that regardless of our ministry focus, we want to be a church that ministers to all groups, young and old. That diverse ministry perspective is representative of our diverse and inclusive church.
